Finding a good church is not hard, but the wrong priorities will make it a lot more complicated.  Here are a few humerous looks at what some people look for in a church. (NOTE: The clips below may take a minute to load, so be patient, they are worth the wait!)

King of The Hill

This video clip is from a cartoon called King of the Hill which offers a funny look at a serious issue.  In this episode, the Hills become quite offended at the Rev. Stroop when their usual pew in church is taken by a new family. Peggy suggests they go in search of a new place to worship.  Maybe you can relate to some of what the Hills experience?

Me Church

This is a funny, and sad, look at people who are looking for a "me" church.  The sad part is there is no shortage of "me" churches.

Clearly there are a lot of choices out there, and I hope you can see that not all choices are good ones.  So how do you select a good church?  Let us suggest three simple criteria:

  • Pick a church that preaches the historical Gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • Pick a church that is actively demonstrates God's love for people.
  • Pick a church that challanges you to look beyond "me" and serve others.

Is Reunion a good church?  We are working at it.  Feel free to come visit us and put us to the test!

Be diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. — YHWH
